Add Files to a Collection
A Collection can be expanded or updated by adding more assets at any time. There are multiple ways to add files Collections.
- Drag and Drop - Simply drag selected files from the workspace onto a Collection to add them.
- Using the Action menu - Sometimes it’s more convenient to use the flyout Action Menu to add a selected group of files to a Collection, especially if you need to create a new Collection at the same time.
- Right-click - The right-click context menu shows some of the options from the action menu, and will operate on all currently selected files.
- Duplicate folder trees to Collection trees - This is useful for files that are well-organized in an existing folder tree.
- Auto-add to collections through Workflow - Automatically add incoming files to a specific Collection.
Add to a Collection by drag and drop
Select one of more files, and drag onto a Collection. A count of selected files appears, and all selected files will be added to the Collection.
- Select assets you would like to add.
- Drag to the desired Collection and wait for the collection to highlight.
- Release. Files will start adding automatically.
- If you are dragging a large number of files, wait for the “adding” dialog to finish before doing another action.
- If the asset count does not immediately update, click the
refresh icon for the Libraries panel.

Add to a Collection with the Action Menu
Sometimes it’s easier to add selected files to a Collection by using the action menu. This is particularly useful if you have not already made the desired Collection.
- Select assets you would like to add.
- Mouse over the
Action Menu in the upper right corner of the Workspace. - Click "Add to Collection…"
- Select Collection to which you would like to add the assets.
- Click "Submit".


Tip: You can create and edit Collections directly in the popup.
Add to a Collection by right-click
You can add files to a collection in both the Grid and Asset views by right-click.
- Right-click on a file in the Grid view.
- Click on Add to Collection... from the dropdown.
- Select an existing Collection or make a new one.
- All selected files will be added to the Collection.
