Add a New Webhook

Add a New Webhook

One of the many ways that Mediagraph integrates with other apps is through the use of webhooks. Webhooks offer a way for apps to automatically send messages or information to each other. They enable different apps to communicate with each other whenever something new happens.

Mediagraph can use webhooks to send a message any time an asset is added to a designated source container. Each message contains various useful data about the asset, and is sent to a URL provided by a third-party webhooks client. To learn more about how webhooks work, and to see some examples of integrations possible with Mediagraph and Zapier (a webhooks client), read the article here: Getting Started with Webhooks.

If you already have a webhooks URL, follow the steps below to connect it with your Mediagraph account.

Add a new webhook

  1. In the Manage tab of your Mediagraph account, click Integrations.
  2. In the Webhooks panel that opens, click Add New Webhook.
  3. Add a name and description (optional) to keep track of your webhook's function.
  4. Enter the webhook URL, and click Send Test. This will send a test message reading "Test POST" to the URL in the field. Ensure this test message is received before proceeding.
  5. Adjust the Settings to fit your requirements:
    • Group Assets in payload? - When turned on, data about multiple assets added to a container simultaneously will be sent in a single message's payload as comma separated values. When turned off, an individual message will be sent for each asset.
    • Include Full Resolution URL in Payload? - When turned on, a URL for a full-resolution copy of an image file will be sent. When turned off, only a downsized 1200-px copy will be included.
  6. Select a source container. Admins and Content Managers can select any container. Library Managers can use webhooks with Lightboxes and Collections only. Ensure that the container you select is clearly marked or designated, as any assets added to the container will trigger a message.
  7. Click the Enable slider at the top of the page to enable your webhook.
  8. Click the blue Save Webhook button at the bottom of the page.
