Upload with SFTP

Upload with SFTP

SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) offers users a fast and secure way to send and receive files and folders. Mediagraph supports the use of SFTP for all upload pipelines: File Vault uploads, Group Contributions, Lightbox uploads, and ad-hoc uploads. SFTP can also be used for uploads directly from a digital camera (camera-to-cloud or C2C), if the camera supports it.

Upload with SFTP

SFTP can be found as an option in the Choose Files upload dropdown.

Click SFTP Credentials... to open a dialog detailing the settings and credentials for this particular upload method. These credentials are personalized for your account. They will only allow you to upload to the particular Folder, Lightbox or Group Contribution Request that you have opened.

You can copy these credentials into your SFTP app one-at-a-time by clicking the blue icon next to each item. You can also have Mediagraph open your default FTP application and fill out the credentials automatically by clicking the Open in SFTP App button. An example of what you might see can be found below.

Warning
  • We recommend that users who use FileZilla switch to another SFTP client. If your computer goes to sleep during a transfer, FileZilla will upload corrupted files to Mediagraph. We recommend SFTP clients like Cyberduck which pause the transfer until there is further user input.
  • Mac users may find that clicking Open in SFTP App opens VLC, an open-source media player, instead of their preferred SFTP app. If this is the case, you need to change the default application for network protocols on your computer. Go to VLC>Preferences>Input/Codecs>Edit default application settings... Select your preferred SFTP app from the dropdown menu.
