Set a custom thumbnail

Set a custom thumbnail

It is possible to set a custom thumbnail for a video or other non-image file. This is useful if you want to change the way a video file displays in your Mediagraph account. This can also allow you to see an image that represents the content of a non-image file instead of a generic icon, for easier browsing. This can be done by selecting a frame from within a video asset, or by uploading an image from your computer. Should you change your mind, it is easy to remove a custom thumbnail after it has been set.

Select a custom thumbnail from within a video

  1. In the workspace, double click on an asset's thumbnail to open the Asset Detail View.
  2. Click Play.png Play to begin playing the video. Once you have reached a frame you would like to set as the thumbnail, click Pause.png Pause to stop the video. You can move the playhead along the progress bar to fine-tune your selection.
  3. Hover over the ActionMenu.png Settings menu.
  4. Click Choose Current Frame.
  5. Click the blue OK button to confirm your selection.
  6. The custom thumbnail you have selected will now display in the Workspace.
