Getting Started with the Picvario Interface

If you are just getting started with Picvario, this guide will help give you an overview of the system’s basic components and start using it sooner.

The system’s main components are the asset feed (1), the navigation bar (2), the right-hand sidebar of properties and actions (3).

Asset feed

The Asset feed shows all files uploaded to the system — photos, videos, audio, documents, vector images, archives, etc.

You can view the asset feed by clicking on the logo in the top left corner or on the asset/collections menu next to it.

Click on the asset thumbnail to open a more detailed view.

Getting started with the Picvario interface

To download an asset, click on the Download button and select the required file size. To download several assets at once, select them by clicking on the thumbnail with the Shift or Ctrl/Command key held down. In the right sidebar, open the Export section and select Download.

To upload new files to the system, simply drag and drop them into the asset feed or click the Import button at the top of the asset feed.

Properties and Actions Panel

Select an asset by clicking on it. On the right sidebar, click on the section of interest.

In the Properties section, you can read and edit the metadata.

In the Property Templates section, create templates so that you don’t have to enter duplicate data every time, for example, copyright or the full name of the author of the photo.

In the Persons tab, you can add or edit the name of the person/people in the photo that the artificial intelligence system recognizes.

Workflows allow you to manually run some automatic system functions.

In the Export section, you can download several assets at once or export them to the FTP server.

In the Share tab, create links to one or more assets and share them with users who are not registered in Picvario.

Navigation panel

Navigation in the system is carried out using the block at the top of the page.

You can get into the asset feed by clicking on the logo in the upper left corner or on the asset/collection selection menu next to it.

Collections

Assets in the system can be grouped. A group of assets is called a collection. To view the list of collections, click on the «Collections» button in the asset/collections selection menu.

Search

The search field allows you to search through metadata and filter assets. To search, enter a value in the field and press Enter. To filter assets, click on icon Filter panel.jpg to open the filtering panel.

Notification Center

The Notification Center is located in the top right corner of the interface and is indicated by a bell icon. Notifications about various action arrive in the Notification Center: for example, about new comments on assets you are subscribed to, about deleting files, or replacing their originals. You will also be notified about assets being added to or removed from collections, and about new materials matching your saved search queries.

Here you will find the number of the current version of Picvario, a link to the help center and the address of the support service.

The list shows the last 5 tasks you have started and the status of their completion.

User Profile

The profile displays the first/last name of the user under whose account you have logged in, account settings, and the logout button. Users with access rights to statistics will see a Statistics button here. Users with Administrator status will also see System Settings here.
