Find Content with the Search Bar

Find Content with the Search Bar

Mediagraph has a very robust, full-featured search engine. Let’s look at some of the different ways you can find content with the Search tool.

Search bar with type-ahead matching

Our main search box is a versatile tool with dual functionality. Firstly, it searches and displays some of the most common terms. Secondly, it performs a general asset search. As you begin typing, you'll see matches for keywords, people, events, collections, lightboxes, and folders you can access. You can also conduct a general search to view all matching assets. The search bar is equipped with boolean (and/or) logic, which allows you to refine your search results.

When you paste a space- or comma-delimited string into the global search box and click the magnifying glass, you can now select OR to run your search.

Convert spaces or commas

When you paste a space- or comma-delimited string into the global search box and click the gear icon to the right of the search bar, you can now select OR to run your search.

This makes it easy to search on multiple filenames. You can type or paste in a selection of filenames separated by either spaces or commas. Once you have entered the names, use the new dropdown to change the search to "or". This will return all files with any of the filenames.

Advanced search

Mediagraph supports many different kinds of metadata. When you want to find files that match a certain set of characteristics, you can do so with Advanced Search. Advanced Search allows you to build queries using up to 56 IPTC and EXIF metadata fields. You can combine them in many different ways to return the files you're looking for.

  • To open, hover over the gear icon to the right of the Search bar, then click Advanced Search.
