Enable public uploads

Enable public uploads

By default, only the Members you give upload permissions to can upload files to your Mediagraph account. If you want to enable uploads for the general public, you can easily enable a Public Contribution Request upload pipeline. This adds a blue Upload button to your account's home page, visible to everyone. You can also create a direct contribution link, which you can share with those who you want to upload to your account. Read below to learn more about enabling public uploads, and some of the ways you can configure them.

Enable Public Uploads

  1. In the Manage tab, select User Groups from the left-hand sidebar. Upload permissions are granted per User Group.
  2. In the row labeled Public, click Edit.
  3. Open the Add Contributors panel.
  4. Click to Enable Contributions for all Group Members.
  5. You can add a short note here detailing the types of files you are requesting. If you want to add the note, click to select Feature on the Upload Page for all Group Members.
  6. You can create a Direct Contribution Link by entering a custom URL slug here. Use the blue Copy button to copy the link. Anyone you share this link with will be able to upload to your Mediagraph account.
  7. Click Update User Group.

Configure Public Uploads

There are many ways to further configure and customize public uploads. All of the following settings can be found on the Edit User Group page.

  • Change the Public Upload Storage Folder: By default, public uploads will be stored in the dedicated Public Group Uploads storage folder (File Vault>Public Storage>Group Uploads). You can change the default storage location in the Edit Storage Folders tab.
  • Tagging Requirements: By default, there are no tagging requirements for public uploads. You can choose to have a tag or set of tags added automatically to all uploads received through this pipeline. You can also require that uploaders add a Creator Tag before submitting their upload. Tag Suggesters can also be enabled. These settings can be found in the Tagging tab.
  • Rights Tagging: You can require that an uploader selects a Rights Package before submitting their upload. You can select which Rights Packages you want to make available for selection. These settings are found in the Rights and Releases tab.
  • Email Notifications: You can add email notifications in the Notifications tab. Any email(s) you add to the list in this tab will be notified any time a new upload starts. You can also add a note, which will be included with the notification.
