Assign and Remove Colour Labels

Colour labels are a great way to easily distinguish files from one another with a quick glance. Users of Adobe Lightroom and other apps will be familiar with this tool, which allows you to represent a metadata field of your choice with a colour value. Colour labelling is a part of Mediagraph’s custom metadata feature. Admins can create colour labelling schema and add them to the Action Menu in the Manage tab. Read below to see a few different ways to assign and remove colour labels.

Assign colour labels in the Action Menu

  1. Select the asset(s) you want to assign a colour label.
  2. Hover over the gear icon to open the Action Menu.
  3. Hover over the labelling scheme you want to use. Make sure it is the one currently visible. You can switch between labelling schema in the View Options menu.
  4. Click to select the label you want to apply.
  5. If you have selected more than one asset, click OK to confirm. The label has been applied and the display should update instantly.

Assign colour labels in the Filter panel

Colour labels can also be updated in the Custom Metadata section of the Filter panel. This is an easy way to update colour labels that have not been added to the Action Menu. Make sure the right labelling scheme is visible. You can switch between labelling schema in the View Options menu.

Assign color labels in Edit Metadata...

Colour labels can also be updated in the Custom Metadata section at the bottom of Edit Metadata.... This is an easy way to update colour labels in bulk that have not been added to the Action Menu. 

  1. Select the asset(s) you want to assign a colour label.
  2. Hover over the gear icon to open the Action Menu.
  3. Click Edit Metadata....
  4. Scroll down to the Custom Metadata section and select the label you want to assign.
  5. Click Submit.

Remove colour labels

Color labels can be removed in the Custom Metadata section at the bottom of Edit Metadata.... This is an easy way to update color labels in bulk that have not been added to the Action Menu. 

  1. Select the asset(s) you want to assign a color label.
  2. Hover over the gear icon to open the Action Menu.
  3. Click Edit Metadata....
  4. Scroll down to the Custom Metadata section and click Remove next to the label you want to remove.
  5. Click Submit.
